Challenges Faced

User Experience & Audience Expectations

Regular visitors may resist drastic changes if the new site feels 'too different'. Awards websites often have multiple sections (nomination forms, voting, past winners, sponsor info). Simplifying this without overwhelming users is a challenge. Ensuring the site meets WCAG standards while still being visually engaging.

Design & Branding

Awards websites must feel elegant and authoritative, but also engaging and easy to use. Sponsors, partners, and media stakeholders expect the site to reflect professionalism. Managing sponsor logos, award categories, event details, and media partners without clutter.

Research

Research included user stakeholder interviews, and a usability audit of the existing site. Key findings showed issues with navigation, branding consistency, and the entry/judging process. Insights guided a user-focused redesign to improve clarity and engagement.

Design Excecution

The design featured a clean, modern interface with enhanced navigation and consistent branding. Key screens, including entry forms and award descriptions, were prototyped with a strong focus on clarity, accessibility, and responsiveness. Continuous feedback ensured alignment with user and business needs, while responsive design guaranteed smooth interaction across all touchpoints.

Wireframes

Wireframes mapped key user flows, including a universal entry point tailored to all user personas. They established clear navigation, content hierarchy, and responsive layouts. Early feedback helped refine the structure before progressing to high-fidelity designs.
